The yearbook is produced by students who are currently enrolled in one of the journalism courses offered at Crestwood High School. The courses follow the following track: Journalism 1 and 2 (85 in English 1 and teacher recommendation required), Newspaper 1 and 2 (85 or higher in Journalism 1 and 2 and/or adviser recommendation) , and Yearbook Production 1 and 2 (85 or higher in Newspaper 1 and 2 and/or adviser recommendation).
We use Jostens as our production facility and our representative is David Patrick.
Our goal as a staff is to provide a book that everyone can enjoy and that features as many students who want to be involved. We strive to have everyone in the book at least 3 times if possible with one of those being their class picture. The book is not just a senior book. All grade levels and activities are covered as equally as possible.
Although the book is not only for seniors, there is a special recognition for seniors in the book. Parents have the opportunity to place a senior ad in the book that celebrates their student with pictures from the past and a message of congratulations. We have many sizes and template designs available which can fit into almost any budget. There is an early price that is lower that ends at the beginning of October and all ads must be submitted with payment by the second week of November.
The book is sold to students with the price increasing incrementally each quarter. The price begins at $50 during the first 2 weeks of school as an early-bird special savings price. From September to around the Thanksgiving break, the price increases to $55. From around Thankgiving until January, the price increases to $60. From February until the end of March when pre-orders end, the price increases to $65. Any books not pre-ordered will be sold after the books have been delivered with a final increase in price to $70. It is best to pre-order your book to save money at the beginning of the year. We do offer a partial payment plan where you can put a $25 deposit on the book and pay the rest later in the year before the books are delivered. Books can be ordered through Mr. Edge in room 4502/4506 or the accounts receivable bookkeeper in the front office. You can also order your book online by visiting www.jostens.com.
Prior year yearbooks can be purchased as available. Any book within the previous 4 years of the current year are sold at the full price of $65. Books that are older than 4 years are sold at the reduced rate of $25. Contact Mr. Edge at 803-469-6200 ext. 4502 or by email at [email protected] to check availability.
